In what has turned out to be a rather dull transfer window for the Los Blancos, there is a reported outgoing from the club. According to recent reports from Marca, Real Madrid are set to lose their U-19 winger, Diby Keita to Olympiacos. Negotiations between the two clubs are on the right path and a deal is expected to be done within the upcoming days.
Diby Keita is expected to fly to Greek soon to agree and sign his contract. The player is highly rated and admired by Olympiacos and hence have been interested in the U-19 for a very long time. Initially, he will start out with the reserves but will eventually be given chances in the senior team as well, something which Real Madrid simply cannot offer with so many talents in the squad already.
Diby Keita, 18 is a U-19 winger for the Real Madrid academy and is highly rated among his teammates and coaches. After moving from Rayo Vallecano he has been playing for La Cantera since 2016 but has struggled for playtime at his level.
Looking at the current competition at Real Madrid for wingers at the moment, one would suggest that there is a very minute possibility that Daby Keita gets any playtime. Even at the academy level, he has struggled to put up with some of the well-established homegrown talents. With the urge to succeed in his career and take things to the bigger stage, Keita is now just step away from moving to Olympiacos.
It will be a fantastic move for the player if the Greek club live up to their promises and provide him the time he demands. From Real Madrid’s perspective, it will be interesting to see if the club has included any buyback or first refusal clauses in the player’s contract.
