Mikel Arteta hints at return of Jack Wilshere’s return

In a recent press conference, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has welcomed former Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere with open arms. Mikel attended a press conference after a gap of two weeks, now that the international break is over, Arsenal are back in action in the Premier League against Norwich City next whom they will host at the Emirates this weekend. Arteta has been under a lot of pressure lately after failing to secure a single point after the opening three games.

When asked about former teammate Jack Wilshere’s situation and if there was a chance of him returning or training with the club again, Mikel replied, ‘Someone that I know, that I shared dressing rooms with and is so loved by everyone here. Our doors are always open.’

Jack Wilshere was a Hale End graduate who came up the ranks and made his debut under Arsene Wenger. The midfielder was regarded as one of the brightest prospects in England football after excelling for Arsenal at a very young age. He was at the club for more than a decade and is still respected and loved by all Arsenal fans, his performance against Barcelona in the Champions League is his most famous and remembered match.

Which club does Jack Wilshere now play for?

Wilshere left Arsenal in 2018 when his contract ran out at North London, he then joined West Ham United on a free transfer. Jack mentioned in an interview that he should have never left Arsenal and that it was his biggest mistake, he did not get the playing time he expected he would at West Ham, ultimately leaving the club two years later.

He then joined AFC Bournemouth hoping to restart his career, but things did not go as planned there as well, leaving Jack Wilshere without a club in 2021. Wilshere was recently pictured training with Italian club Como who play in Serie B. After Mikel’s recent comments, Wilshere will be looking for one last chance to prove himself as a Gunner.
