During the 2021-22 season, Siemone spent part of the season on loan with Hellas Verona, where he performed well. In 37 matches in all competitions, he contributed 17 goals, in addition to six assists. This contributed to his temporary team achieving a good top-half finish.

During this time, the 26-year-old’s primary club, Cagliari, was demoted to a lower division. Now, with just two years remaining on his contract, the striker is likely to depart the club for a reduced price this summer. The deal is expected to be finalized soon.

What’s the matter?

The Serie A club had to pay approximately 14 million euros in 2020 to get Simeone, who is the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone (according to Football 365). Arsenal is reportedly interested in signing the Argentina international player, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (via HITC Sport).

Following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure from the club in January, the Gunners are eager to add a new center striker to their roster during the current transfer window. In addition, Alexandre Lacazette is expected to depart when his current deal comes to an end this summer.

According to another claim from the Italian publication, the north London club will have to contend with a lot of other teams to get Simeone. Additionally, Juventus is looking for a backup attacker to play with star forward Dusan Vlahovic. The existing loan agreement for Simeone might be converted into a permanent one for Verona to consider.

It is possible that their lack of offensive potency in the most recent season prevented them from qualifying for the Champions League. Yet, they have not made any signings so far this summer.

Arsenal News Transfer: Arsenal is still in the battle for Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus, who represents Brazil on the international stage, has been strongly connected to Arsenal. However, it has been stated by TuttoJuve (via The Mirror) that Tottenham, Arsenal’s rivals in north London, is planning a transfer for the 25-year-old player.

The expected arrival of superstar number 9 Erling Haaland at the Etihad Stadium is likely to result in Jesus’ departure from the club over the summer. According to a report from The Mirror, the current Premier League winners are seeking about £50 million for the striker.

TuttoJuve has asserted that Spurs have entered the competition to acquire Jesus to steal the contract from the Gunners. This summer, Antonio Conte wants to be ready for the possibility that star striker Harry Kane would opt to leave the club. The fact that Tottenham Hotspur can provide Champions League competition gives them an edge over their competitors in north London.
