Willian Set for a move away from the Emirates

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that a bid for Arsenal’s winger, Willian has now arrived from a Brazilian club, Corinthians and the player is considering a move back to his local league. Although he would prefer to stay in Europe and continue with Arsenal, the club is reluctant on keeping the player because of his sky-rocketing wages. Willian who recently moved to Arsenal from rivals, Chelsea has fallen out of favour and is no more considered a starter, he came to the club with big expectations but has failed to live up to them.

He has been out of action this season after contracting the Covid-19 virus and is reportedly not in contention to play against Manchester City next week as well. Initially, he started as a right-winger, but things did not go the way Arteta thought they would, leaving him no choice but to bench Willian and start Pepe ahead of him.

Are any other clubs interested in Willian?

Earlier this summer, it was reported that Saudi Arabian side, Al-Ahli were interested in signing the winger, but they changed their plans, and thus, an offer was never submitted. Arsenal, meanwhile, are open to offload the player this summer as he is reportedly among one of the highest-paid players at the club with his weekly wage well excess in 100k, therefore becoming a barrier for those clubs who are trying to sign him.

Arsenal are in a massive rebuild and are trimming their current squad in order to make space for some new spaces. Willian is among one of the many players Arsenal are open to sell if and when the correct bid arrives, Nketiah and Torreira are expected to leave Arsenal before the transfer window ends as well.

Willian’s departure news has pleased a lot of Arsenal fans after the player failed up to live up to their expectations and has been heavily criticized for his attitude and mentality regarding the club.
