Manchester United Becomes The Premier League Club With The Highest Away Wins

Manchester United has climbed up to the 7th on the Premier League table after a comfortable 3-1 away win against Brentford. A loss to the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers followed by a draw against Aston Villa raised quite a few eyebrows but this game has certainly restored faith amongst their supporters.

With all three of the goals coming from the academy graduates, i.e. Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford, the away fans had a lot to cheer for. After the final whistle, they got one more reason to do so as Manchester United became the first team in the history of Premier League to win 300 away games – 41 more away wins than second on the list Chelsea.

This is not only proof of how dominating a force they have been since the creation of this league but also a further reminder of the pride the club batch carries. With Sir Alex Ferguson initiating the tradition and now Ralf Rangnick carrying it on, the fans once again have something great to look forward to.

The Red Devils have won most of their away games against both Aston Villa and Everton. Manchester United has 17 wins at both Villa Park and Goodison Park. Their second favourite team to face on the road is Newcastle Untied as United has won 14 games at Saint James’ Park till now. The next on the list are two heavyweights – Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs as Manchester United has won 12 away games at both Anfield and White Hart Lane.

Manchester United’s biggest Premier League away win came against Nottingham Forest when they defeated the hosts 8-1 in February 1999. Wayne Rooney still holds the record for most away goals in the club’s history with 62 goals by his name.

A much-needed win and a historic feat in London will surely boost the confidence of the team and make them believe their process more. The season is not over yet and this victory may turn out to become a game-changer for a team like Manchester United that has been suffering from low confidence for so long.
