Arsenal secured a fantastic 2-0 win over Newcastle United as the Gunners put out a brilliant show for the fans at the Emirates. After falling under Anfields’ pressure last week, Liverpool ended Arsenal’s 10 matches unbeaten streak, but that did not lower the morale of Mikel Arteta’s team in any possible way as the men in red came out on top this weekend. While Newcastle United did look easy on paper, they held the Gunners down until Bukayo Saka opened the scoring in the 56th minute in what proved to be a beautiful typical Arsenal goal.
The first half was dull, to say the least with either of the sides failing to score and just 3 shots on target from both the teams combined. The second half brought the spark Arsenal needed to get the win as Saka bagged his second goal of the season which was soon followed by a marvelous goal scored by Gabriel Martinelli who was brought on as Bukayo Saka limped off with a muscle injury.
With this win, Arsenal now currently sits at 5th in the Premier League table. Level on points with West Ham United who are 4th due to their better goal difference. The upcoming weeks will be make or break for the Gunners. Mikel Arteta as a lot is on the line with Arsenal traveling to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
