Toni Kroos’ agent makes a sensational revelation about midfielder’s exit from Bayern Munich

Toni Kroos’ agent Volker Struth has come up with a sensational revelation that Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola didn’t want the midfielder to leave the club in 2014 and his transfer to Real Madrid was pure because of the fact that the club CEO and president were not in favor of paying him the salary that he wanted.

According to Toni Kroos’ agent, Bayern CEO had offered a yearly salary of 6 million Euros for Kroos, and he had told him quite clearly in the first instance itself that Toni Kroos wanted nothing less than a 10 million Euro salary as he is one of the top midfielders in the world and that is the salary standard in the market for top midfielders.

Struth said he had a similar conversation with the CEO again after a couple of months, and he came up with a new offer, but the new offer was really laughable because he had stretched himself from 6 million Euros to 6.5 million Euros. That’s what he thought Kroos was worth as a midfielder.

However, the situation hadn’t gone out of hand even at that point. It went out of hand when Uli Hoeness, the president of Bayern Munich, came into the picture after Bayern Munich’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Frankfurt in February 2014.

When the players were returning to the change room at the end of that game, Hoeness told Kroos personally that he would never be paid 10 million Euros at Bayern Munich because he is not a world-class player and he should tell that to his agent. It was at that point of time that Kroos made the decision he wouldn’t stay at Bayern.

The information went out in the market that Kroos was available, and that’s where Real Madrid showed interest. It turned out to be a good deal for both parties, as Kroos proved his worth as a midfielder and won the Champions League with the Spanish giants. Bayern, on the other hand, despite dominating domestically, couldn’t get over the line in Europe during that period of 2014-19.
