Three Players To Watch Out For When Manchester United Collides With Atletico Madrid At Metropolitano

Despite a recent spell that only stoked Ralf Rangnick’s worries, Manchester United managed to return to winning ways as they took down Brighton and Leeds United in consecutive fixtures to bring back their Premier League campaign on the path.

After a brief hiatus, the Devils will be back to the Champions League circuit as they take on the Spanish stalwarts, Atletico Madrid. Simeone’s men have given tough times to Klopp earlier and now their former adversary, Cristiano Ronaldo will be returning to the fold.

The biggest revelation of United’s victory against Leeds was a returning Jadon Sancho. After severe flak in the opening half of the season, the Englishman has finally started finding his stride at Old Trafford.

More importantly, just ahead of the Champions League fixture, Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, both regained their shooting form as they put one past Brighton each.

As United returns for European contention, we will be taking a look at three players to watch out in the United lineup.

Jadon Sancho

The speedster has finally found his groove at Old Trafford where he seemed more lost than ever. Somewhere his tempo was all over the place and the heightened expectations stifled him down further. However, he has finally started showing signs of maturity where he would bike down the wings, dribble past the defenders and unleash fiery thunderbolts to leave the opposition discombobulated. Another intriguing factor about Sancho of late has been his devil-may-care attitude. He has unwaveringly let peaches fly while his trackbacks have even fiercer than ever. Atletico is always known for its defensive prowess and United will be needing the best from their attacking trident to run riots against the Spaniards.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Despite a barren spell in the middle, the Portuguese sensation finally managed to find his stride and it came back in the most pompous ways where he dribbled past a guard of four defenders and hammered a thunderbolt into the back of the net. We are all aware of Ronaldo’s shooting ability and if Manchester United finds a way to his feet, even the best has been obliterated with extreme prejudice. He has also savoured unparalleled dominance so far in the latest installment of the tournament where it was riding on his heroics, Manchester aced their respective group.

Bruno Fernandes

Another heavily criticized figure in the United contours, Bruno Fernandes has started firing on all cylinders as he has successfully started stitching together important passes that the United’s attacking ascendancy was divested of in their respective woeful outings where wins were hard to come by. His foresight and ideas have always helped the Devils to come up with something significant and when United arrives at Metropolitano, his presence will be crucial to the Manchester United ranks.
