Ralf Rangnick will be a happy man as Manchester United finished their UCL group league fixtures with a draw against the Young Boys that could have easily been a victory, if not for the profligacy upfront.

The Devils kept on coming back at the visitors as their custodian had to pull off one save after the other to keep them afloat.

United carved open the Young Boys defence on multiple occasions only to be denied by either their self-forged wasting nature or by a resilient Young Boys defence.

The Devils could have very well won the game if not for a minute of madness from Van De Beek in the dying embers of the first half. With the Reds spread all over them like a cheap suit, the visitors had no answer to Ralf Rangnick’s high-pressing strategy.

Despite not being able to cross the finishing line, Manchester United had a lot of youngsters to choose from that will make Ralf Rangnick happy. We will take a quick look at three youngsters of the game who impressed heavily for Manchester United.

Mason Greenwood

Needless to say, but Mason Greenwood was undoubtedly United’s best player on the pitch. He started the day with a phenomenal scissor kick that rammed into the back of the net, leaving the spectators and Favre agape in awe. There were multiple occasions where Greenwood wheeled and carted past the Young Boys defenders leaving them to chase ghosts. He sprinkled Old Trafford with the stardust of his own as he was instrumental in executing Rangnick’s high-press strategy against the Boys.

Jesse Lingard

Ever since his return from West Ham United, Jesse Lingard has rarely had a bad outing in the games that he has played. However, when it came to the Young Boys, he had a couple of bones to pick because last time it was his miffed pass that led Manchester United being thumped in the opening round of the fixture. He was fast, he was hard to catch and most importantly he was a man on a mission. He scooted past the Young Boys defenders in the flash of an eye and was tugging the strings behind Manchester United’s attacking force. He combined perfectly alongside Anthony Elanga to pose severe threats on the Young Boys goal only for the youngster to be sloppy just ahead of the goal.

Eric Bailly

Most likely, people won’t be concurring on this one because of United’s attacking supremacy, however, he was the silent warrior for the Devils as whenever the Young Boys came calling, this man rushed to the deliverance of the fortress and came out in flying colours. He was almost everywhere and did not allow concession the ball knowingly and carved few amazing passes for the onrushing United attack. One of the primary reasons where United felt a lot more comfortable in venturing forward was because of Eric Bailly’s monstrous presence in the back.
