Thomas Tuchel Sympathises With The Chelsea Fan After The Brawl With Cesar Azpilicueta

Chelsea just lost their third successive home game in all competitions after their loss to Arsenal yesterday. The team’s inconsistent form and performance continued as the Blues failed to further solidify their third-place position on the table. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal thrashed them 4-2 at Stamford Bridge to go on the level with Tottenham Hotspurs on points.

The match unfolded in a chaotic fashion as an individual error cost Tuchel’s side in the very beginning and in the first- half the team had to come back from behind twice to keep the score at the level before going into the halftime. The match made the frustration of Chelsea fans present within the stadium come out.

A London derby loss to the arch-rival that too at home was hard to digest for the fans and one of them showed their disappointment on the club captain Cesar Azpilicueta. One of the fans tried to express his frustration after the full-time whistle and Azpilicueta went to confront him. The fan undoubtedly wanted to see from his players but that did not happen as the team folded badly last night.

Can Chelsea Bounce Back?

The whole incident did not go down well with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel as during the post-match interview he said, “I was not part of it, I saw it, but, honestly, I can also understand the fan”.  Although, this entire scenario along with the match result has to be put behind by the team as big challenges still await them in the coming weeks and months.

The team has qualified for the FA Cup final once again under Tuchel and hopes to win the competition this time around. But before that, they have a few more obstacles waiting for them in the Premier League. They have another derby to play at home against West Ham United before their away trip to Old Trafford against Manchester United. Both these fixtures may determine the team’s chances of actually finishing in the top 4.

The following fixtures against Everton (away), Wolves (home), Leeds United (away), Leicester City (home) and Watford (home) may turn out to be tricky. All in all, Chelsea should have an easy run to the top 4 and secure a third-place finish this season.
