This is why Odegaard was furious with Bukayo Saka after Arsenal drew with Brighton

Arsenal played out a draw with Brighton

After a rambunctious clash of 90 minutes, as Arsenal and Brighton rocked back and forth without much success, the scoreline failed to justify the high intensity of the game.

The match ended in a goalless affair that could have easily swung in any of the team’s favour, where both the teams came close only to be refuted by some resolute defending and a few slices of misfortune.

The two giants of Arsenal in this season

One of the best players for Gunners this season has been their center-back, Gabriel Magalhaes. He has been hard to beat in tussles, given his strongly built stature, his game-reading has been exceptional and more importantly, he has been absolutely sensational with his positioning.

In the clash against Brighton, he got one of his teeth knocked out after a clattering collision with Robert Sanchez. More importantly, despite all the hustle and tussle in keeping an aggressive Brighton at bay, it was Gabriel who came up trumps.

To add to Arteta’s growing content with the rearguard, Ben White has finally started settling in and has shown a considerable amount of promise against the Seagulls to make people believe that the Gunners were right in roping him in.

Arteta explained that the duo of White and Gabriel has finally been coming together however, there are a few challenges hither and yon that have been visible and will need working upon.

The Spaniard highlighted the challenges that have so far been a major cause of friction between the two teams. According to Arteta, the duo hasn’t played together earlier and there are semantic hindrances between both.

Aaron Ramsdale had a few shaky moments against Brighton, those were compounded by the misses from Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney. However, the duo of White and Gabriel came up with brick and mortar to plug the gaps that were exposed with the attacking exploits of Brighton.

For a momentary lapse of humour, Gabriel was looking around for his knocked tooth after the game ended, only to be disappointed as it was nowhere to be found.

This is why Odegaard got angry way too frequently

Despite it turning out to be a great day at the office for the defenders, the Norwegian attacker, Martin Odegaard had a frustrating outing against Brighton. Unlike Thomas Partey, Odegaard failed to conjure ample space ahead of him and despite dropping deep, he couldn’t find himself in the right spot to summon a rock-solid illustration.

He was seen getting visibly irritated at Aubameyang failing to wriggle out spaces that he ideally should create as a striker. In fact, there was a point in time when Odegaard also screamed at Saka to get up when Brighton was on one of their advances.

Odegaard is one of the finest players to have donned the Arsenal jersey in the current squad, however, on days when things don’t go his way, he can be a very cross person to deal with.
