Thibaut Courtois Backs Eden Hazard Amid Chelsea Transfer Links

Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois – A bond made in heaven: Revenge – a word that’s tossed around quite often in the field of competitive sports and culture acts as one of the biggest motivations for athletes to succeed. Many come back where they begin to dethrone their previous kingdom’s new king – some succeed, most don’t.

Thibaut Courtois, the current Real Madrid and former Chelsea goalkeeper whose departure from Chelsea sparked various controversies and made him a negative figure around the club came back to Stamford Bridge during their UEFA Champions League clash to get one over his former club and the fans who used to cheer for him once. Real Madrid scored three past Edouard Mendy in the first leg as the Los Blancos secured a 3-1 away victory. Before the match, expectedly, one of the talking points was the rumours around Chelsea’s ownership but surprisingly, one reporter asked Courtois about Eden Hazard’s situation at Real Madrid.

A Dramatic Revival Awaiting for Eden Hazard?

Hazard’s move to Madrid was wrapped around expectations from the fans and it never panned out as expected. In his seven seasons at Chelsea, Hazard became a talisman for the club and saved them from sinking multiple times at big stages. With all the injuries and limited game time, his influence in the dressing room and world football has faded away to a large extent.

According to various reports, Eden is not in Real Madrid’s plans and the club is looking to offload him this summer to open up space in the wage bill. A few recent reports have linked Hazard with a move back to Chelsea but as things stand, the interest from the Blues is under question. Amidst all this chaos, his international and club teammate Courtois has decided to back Hazard. During the post-match press conference against Chelsea, he said, “The class and talent he has are things you don’t forget”.

With all the things being said about him, there is no doubt about his talent and charisma and ability to turn the tide of the game on his day. Despite being called a flop, Hazard is still one of the best prospects in world football and maybe a change in climate and culture can help him regain his old self.
