Thierry Henry Is Not Happy With Arsenal’s Football And Passed A Scathing Verdict For The Gunners

Erstwhile Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry, has cast his skepticism about Arsenal making the cut for Europe in the following season as the Gunners are still to hit their stride. Despite a few decent stalemates in the recent past, the results aren’t overwhelming enough for Arteta to issue a strong statement.

The start for Arsenal was woeful, to say the least, as they slumped to three straight defeats at the hands of Brentford, Manchester City and Chelsea in the three opening games of the league. They did manage to turn things around, Spurs but were once again at the receiving end after sharing the spoils of war against Brighton and Crystal Palace.

The current woes of Arsenal

Mikel Arteta’s side is currently in the 12th spot of the points table but going by the number of points mastered by other teams, they are just four adrift of the top four. Despite recovering from a losing streak to now convert into a drawing one, Henry was not happy at the way Arsenal performed against Spurs despite a sumptuous victory.

When asked on CBS Sports whether Arsenal will qualify for Europe, Henry very clearly said that with the kind of performances he saw on Tuesday, chances are very rare. Even though the French striker believes that the gentry of football that Arsenal has been playing will not land them in the hallowed European contest, yet pundits, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher feel otherwise.

This season was tagged as the first year in the last two decades that Arsenal has not made the cut for the European contest after finishing in a woeful 8th last year. Henry is worried about the direction in which the club is headed and is in talks with Spotify owner, Daniel Ek about a probable takeover.

In a quickfire question, when Henry was asked that who was the best player he has played alongside and the answer given by him was another Arsenal legend, Denis Bergkamp.
