The Transfers That May Go Through For Arsenal Before Deadline Day

The Gunners Need To Add More Players To Their Squad And Will Try To Sign This Player

As the January transfer window closes on Monday, Arsenal is scrambling to add to their roster as quickly as possible. This is proving to be a difficult assignment so far. A deal for Dusan Vlahovic has fallen through owing to the striker’s desire to join Juventus this month. Another target, Alexander Isak, is not believed to be interested in joining Arsenal in the middle of the season.

Midfield is a priority for Arsenal. They presently only have three alternatives in the middle of the park. A number that will increase to four when Mohamed Elneny returns from Egypt’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Mark Mann-Bryans, the 29-year-old was seriously considering a transfer to Fenerbache this winter. A move that would have seen him leave before his contract with the club expired in the summer of 2022. Given Arsenal’s inability to attract additional players to fill that position, that transfer seems more unlikely to happen.

A deal for Matt Turner?

A deal for Matt Turner is the only one that Arsenal has completed now. He will move to the Emirates in the summer. On the other hand, deals for midfielders and strikers are still on the table.

While swirling rumours of interest in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and others, the increasingly expensive and difficult deals that would need to be pulled off their preferred targets have led Arsenal to concede that they may not be able to bring in any new players before the transfer deadline day comes around.

The club’s fans will be concerned about the atmosphere in and around the club with just a few days remaining to complete any signings. They know that the team needs an infusion of quality, especially at No. 9.

As things stand, the only transaction that seems to have a chance of being completed in time is the acquisition of goalie Matt Turner.

As a result of the Gunners’ current abundance of resources in that area, the American was a surprising link to be discovered. Inevitably, Bernd Leno’s tenure at Arsenal would come to an end in the summer owing to his need for regular playing time to maintain his position in the German national team. So, the £5m purchase of Turner implies that Leno’s exit would take place sooner rather than later.  Things change in a short period, depending on performance.

What is the situation right now for Arsenal?

Bruno Guimaraes signed a contract with Newcastle United quite recently. He would enhance the majority of midfield in the Premier League.

However, time is the key in this situation. Edu is already the subject of abuse this time around. Fans don’t remember the job he did only a few months ago.

The club’s immediate and long-term interests are not served by hasty judgments in this window. There are no real targets available that they consider reachable or sensible to sign in this window. You can’t help but think that this group will want some assistance to finish in the top four. Particularly at the centre-forward position.
