Real Madrid Keen On The Transfer These Young Midfielders

Reports Confirm That Los Blancos Want A New Addition To Their Squad

Recent reports confirm that Real Madrid is interested in signing a player this season, ideally a defensive midfielder. They want a player who can serve as a long-term replacement for Casemiro, it has been evident that the club is looking to bring in a new midfielder this season. It was reported that Aurelien Tchouameni, an AS Monaco midfielder is the target. The club’s top scout Juni Calafat came to France to speak with the Frenchman’s entourage.

Monaco, on the other hand, seems to be offering a premium price for Tchouameni, probably in the three-figure range. There is an urgent need for a backup plan. Juni Calafat seems to have discovered a fantastic backup plan in another young midfielder who has pleased the pioneer of Real Madrid’s youth strategy.

According to Tomas Gonzalez-Martin of ABC Deportes, Real Madrid and Calafat have turned their focus away from Tchouameni and towards Ryan Gravenberch, who may serve as fallback option if the transfer for Tchouameni does not materialise. Real Madrid is interested in signing the 19-year-old Ajax midfielder. With his transfer fee estimated to be in the region of 35 million euros, it makes sense for the club to pursue such a brilliant player. The possibility that Gravenberch was Real’s backup plan had been floated a few days ago; nevertheless, the latest news from an authoritative journalist confirms this.

Gravenberch is a superb player, but he is completely different from Tchouameni in terms of style and temperament.

Given that Gravenberch is an exceptional midfielder who has grown up in Ajax’s academy, there is no reason not to anticipate something remarkable from him in the near future. He has a gift of exceptional speed and power. A good dribbler with remarkable close control for a player who is 6 feet 3 inches in height.

He can dribble through those tight spaces in the final third, as well as the capacity to create opportunities out of thin air. When given space, he also tends to fire from a distance. The majority of the time such shots are successful in troubling the keeper.

He is an excellent ball-winner, and his defensive abilities are above average. He can play as a defensive midfielder, but he is not a No. 6 specialist like Tchouameni. He’s more suited to a central midfield position, such as that of a box-to-box midfielder. His situation may be comparable to that of one of Real Madrid’s current midfielders, Eduardo Camavinga.

If a major European team signs him, he will be a terrific addition to their midfield and long-term potential. However, before making a move for the player and speaking with his agent, Mino Raiola, the team must first establish what their objectives are. If the club’s objective is to recruit a long-term successor for Casemiro, then signing Tchouameni could be the best option. They may withdraw from the race owing to the high expectations of Monaco.

Although signing Gravenberch with the idea of utilising him as a defensive midfielder may seem like a good option; it may not be the best option for them. After all, everyone would want to see a child playing at the position that he is most comfortable in.
