The sale of Alvaro Odriozola might take place in the summer when Real Madrid completes the acquisition of Vinicius Tobias. The Spanish club could ask for between €18 and €20 million for the Spaniard
Real Madrid is considering selling Alvaro Odriozola in the summer transfer window, according to Defensa Central, after coming near to completing the acquisition of Vinicius Tobias.
The Brazilian right-back is likely to complete his transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk to Real Madrid soon. Thus, signing a two-year loan contract with an option to make the move permanent. Tobias will first join the club’s Castilla side. But he has the potential to become a member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in due course.
Real Madrid is reportedly contemplating selling Alvaro Odriozola, who is presently on loan at Fiorentina, as a result of this situation. The 26-year-old joined Los Blancos from Real Sociedad. Even though he arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu with a lot of potential, the Spaniard struggled to make an impact. He finally completed a loan move to Bayern Munich in January 2020.
Odriozola returned to Real Madrid in the summer of that year. Although he played little last season under Zinedine Zidane and completed a loan move to Fiorentina the next season. So far, the right-back has made an impression during his time in Italy. Thus, scoring one goal and providing one assist in 22 Serie A appearances.
What will Los Blancos decide?
The likelihood of Odriozola making a return to Real Madrid next season is high. Several other teams have shown an interest in the Spaniard. Fiorentina themselves are contemplating making his move to the Serie A club permanent.
With Tobias Boas expected to join in the summer and Real Madrid having the option of calling on Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez in the right-back position, the club is reportedly considering permanently releasing Odriozola. Los Blancos will seek between €18 and €20 million for the 26-year-old. He has a contract with the club until 2024 if they opt to sell him.
Nevertheless, a final choice has not yet been reached. According to reports, Carlo Ancelotti will analyse both Odriozola and Tobias in the pre-season before the new season before making his final decision. Real Madrid, on the other hand, would be interested in the idea of earning close to €20 million for a player who has struggled to make an impact at the Santiago Bernabeu in his time there.
