Real Madrid Is Keeping Track On Yet Another Brazilian Wonderkid

The growth of Palmeiras wonderkid Luis Guilherme, who has been labelled the ‘next Rivaldo,’ is being closely monitored by Real Madrid, according to reports

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid has set their eyes on Brazilian teenage prodigy Luis Guilherme. He is rising through the ranks of Palmeiras and has been drawn comparison to Selecao great Rivaldo.

Luis Guilherme has been a part of the Palmeiras youth system for the last five years. He has been recruited by the Brazilian club from a school in his native state of Sergipe. The offensive midfielder, who turned 16 earlier this year in February, is one of the academy’s crown jewels. He has a promising career ahead of him.

This year, Guilherme was a member of the Palmeiras young squad that won the Copinha tournament. During that success, a certain 15-year-old prodigy by the name of Endrick, who is also on Real Madrid’s radar, grabbed the headlines with his performance. Guilherme, on the other hand, was an important member of the squad.

Guilherme has continued to make headlines in youth football. Most recently he made an impression playing for Brazil’s Under-17 squad in the Montaigu Tournament in France this summer. In addition to Endrick, the 16-year-old offensive midfielder made a strong impression for Brazil. He helped the team win the tournament for the first time since 1984.

Luis Guilherme, who wore the No. 10 shirt throughout the tournament, ended with three goals. One of the goals came in the finals against the Argentina national team. As a result of his performances, he seems to have caught the attention of Real Madrid.

So, what’s next for Los Blancos?

The Spanish giants have been concentrating their efforts on strengthening their young ranks. Club president Florentino Perez is intent on developing the next generation of superstars for the first squad from inside the ranks of the junior. It has resulted in them recruiting actively for La Fabrica and the Castilla team in recent transfer windows.

Real Madrid recently beat arch-rivals Barcelona for the signing of goalkeeping prodigy Ferran Quetglas. The club is scanning the market for the best young possibilities both inside Spain and beyond. However, although Los Blancos have previously shown an interest in signing Endrick, they are also considering making a bid for his colleague Luis Guilherme.

After turning 16 a few months ago, the offensive midfielder, is on the verge of signing a professional deal with Palmeiras after receiving interest from other clubs. The contract is scheduled to last three years. It should not prevent Real Madrid from maintaining tabs on Guilherme before deciding whether or not to make a move for him.
