It has been reported by the Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo that the struggle to ensure the long-term future of Kylian Mbappe is becoming more heated. It is possible that Paris Saint-Germain would go to any lengths to keep the services of their prized asset. But Real Madrid might give a contract of €50 million per year to lure him away.
He initially gained recognition in professional club football with AS Monaco. Since then Kylian Mbappe has been a sought-after commodity in the market. After turning down offers from many major clubs to join Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, the 23-year-old has made tremendous strides.
With 31 goals and 22 assists in 39 games across all competitions in the 2021/22 season, the Frenchman has put together an impressive year. Mbappe has also achieved success at the international level. He has won the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Nations League in 2021, respectively. However, the player’s contract predicament has placed PSG in a difficult position. It has also alerted Real Madrid of the possibility of a Bosman transfer.
Real Madrid sought to recruit Mbappe for a nine-figure fee last summer. But the French champions were able to hold on to their star player. Since the youngster’s contract will expire in a few months, the probability of Real Madrid acquiring the priority target has increased. The club is confident of gaining his services during the summer transfer window.
With Gareth Bale almost set to depart Real Madrid as a free agent, Mbappe is a like-for-like successor who is capable of performing at or above the Welshman’s best levels. If he can finalise a free move to Real Madrid, the French international would effectively become the long-awaited successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Merengues are now willing to offer Mbappe a large quantity of money to persuade him to join them in the summer. Although Paris Saint-Germain is doing all they can to keep him. Real Madrid will give the 23-year-old a deal of €50 million per year, according to Mundo Deportivo, to ensure his long-term future with the club.
The real value of the deal will be €100 million, implying that the €50 million in profits will be considered net statistics rather than gross ones. Even though the price seems to be exorbitant, Real Madrid will most likely be able to afford to pay it. This is because three high-earning players, Gareth Bale, Isco, and Marcelo, will depart in the summer. The €50 million-per-year deal would make Mbappe the highest-paid player in the world. It will be intriguing to see whether such a lucrative offer is enough to entice him to Paris Saint-Germain.
