Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale is at a crossroads in his career. He has gone from being a crucial member of the team to becoming an afterthought. A loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur did nothing to improve his reputation after he helped Los Blancos win the UEFA Champions League.

This season, the 32-year-old has experienced his lowest point as a Real Madrid player. Thus, accumulating just 270 minutes of playing time over five appearances and scoring only one goal in the process. The fact that Bale will be a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Real Madrid during the summer transfer window is a given. A move to Serie A is a possibility for the Welsh attacker. AC Milan is reportedly showing interest in signing him.

AC Milan will want to add offensive reinforcements to their squad during the summer transfer window. Strengthening the right-wing position is a top goal. This is because Samu Castillejo may leave San Siro before the 2022/23 season. Thus, leaving Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers as the only alternative choices available to Stefano Pioli and his coaching staff.

What is in store in Gareth Bale’s future?

However, neither Messias nor Saelemaekers exudes confidence when it comes to being the first-choice option on the right-wing. Bale is therefore a plausible target for AC Milan. Especially given the fact that he will come to the San Siro as part of a free transfer. This is in line with the club’s financial constraints. The Italian club is also showing interest in fellow Real Madrid wide-attacker Marco Asensio.

Aside from that, the Serie A heavyweights have also set their eyes on Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard. Thus, indicating unequivocally that they see promise in the Real Madrid misfits. When it comes to the chase of Gareth Bale, Paolo Maldini has been in contact with the Welsh international’s representatives to negotiate his pay demands.

However, Brazilian great Rivaldo recently predicted that the ex-Tottenham star would be signed by cash-rich Newcastle United. Having said that, the rise of AC Milan, which would provide him the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Champions League if he joins the Serie A club, may cause Bale to reconsider his decision.
