Real Madrid And Barcelona Lock Horns For Spanish Wonderkid Pablo Torre, Other European Clubs Also Interested

Barcelona and Real Madrid are keeping a careful eye on the growth of 18-year-old Pablo Torre

It was reported by the Spanish daily MARCA, that the great achievements of Pablo Torre during his time with Racing Santander have left many scouts pleased. Barcelona and Real Madrid, in particular, have taken notice of the 18-year-old prodigy’s abilities. The two La Liga giants are now assessing their options about his future in the league.

Because of his remarkable improvement throughout his formative years, Pablo Torre is often considered one of Spain’s best young prospects. He has earned this reputation. He began his professional career with CD Marina Sport before transferring to Racing Santander in 2012. It is during his time at Racing that the young Spaniard has developed substantially. He has become a key member of the first squad while still being in his teens.

The 18-year-old has had an outstanding start to the 2021/22 season. He has scored six goals and seven assists in 23 games across all competitions thus far. In the First RFEF, Torre’s performances have been instrumental in moving Racing Santander to the top of Group 1 with their results. Despite his early age, his achievements have not gone unnoticed. Real Madrid and Barcelona are both interested in signing him.

Real Madrid’s interest in him is a consequence of the Modric and Kroos’ advanced years. The two ageing midfielders are nearing the end of their careers. This has caused Real Madrid to devise a succession plan for their replacements. And, with some gas remaining in the tank, Torre might be called upon to fill in for Dani Ceballos or Isco at the Santiago Bernabeu in the short term.

Will Real Madrid edge out Barcelona for the signing?

Los Blancos aren’t the only big-name Spanish team interested in signing the 18-year-old Spanish prodigy. Barcelona will also be a fierce competitor for Real Madrid in the pursuit of Torre. He is a perfect match for the club’s current youth-oriented resurgence.

Barcelona’s average age has regularly decreased since the 2020/21 season. Players such as Pedri, Gavi, and Nico Gonzalez are among those who have benefited from the club’s mandated focus on integrating young players into the squad. Torre might replace Riqui Puig in the Barcelona first-team squad this summer, with the Spanish midfielder being extensively linked with a move away from the Camp Nou this summer.

Apart from Torre, Barcelona and Real Madrid are battling it out for the signatures of a slew of promising young players from Spain and abroad. Alejandro Monserrate is among those on the radar of both clubs. For the time being, though, it seems that the 18-year-old Racing Santander wonderkid’s talents will continue to draw interest from other European teams if his club gets promoted to the second tier.
