Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes The First Athlete To Cross 100 Million Followers On Twitter

Through thick or through thin, Cristiano Ronaldo has always made it a habit to rattle world records at will. In his already bedecked cap of records, a new feather got added as he became the first sportsperson in the entire world to rack up the feat of 100m followers on Twitter. In fact, across the entire globe and all walks of life, he would become the fifth personality to achieve this feat.

The stature that Ronaldo carries on the pitch is already too towering for his opposition. Despite a lackluster Premier League season for Manchester United, he is still the highest goal-scorer in the Premier League for the Devils with 18 goals to his name.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his bloated cabinet of records

The 100m mark came after 12 years of joining Twitter as he would become the first sportsperson to rack up this insane feat. He is only behind former US president, Barack Obama, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Rihanna when it comes to the entire platform.

In fact, if you would put together his number of followers across all social media platforms, he is the only one in the entire world to have crossed the hallowed figures of 500 million followers. The platforms include Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. He holds the record for the second most followed account on Instagram with 439 million followers. Instagram’s official Insta handle is the only one to edge past him.

Well, being the inspiration for millions that he is across the face of the globe irrespective of your walk of life, Ronaldo has always shared moments from his training, from his personal life, from his brands that would actually give you a fair insight about the Portuguese sharp-shooter who has been breaking records at will even at the ripe age of 37.

With United knocked out of contention from the next year’s Champion’s League, it is still hard to say whether he would continue at Old Trafford or not but with the arrival of ten Hag, United can only hope to retain their lodestar in times of such hot waters.
