Arsenal defender, Rob Holding, has been ruled out of the clash against Burnley a Turf Moor as he copped a knee injury in training earlier this week. The defender had multiple bruises on his right knee and was doing significantly well with his rehab. However, it was later clarified that he will not be available before next week and hence, the Gunners will have to find a proper replacement for Holding to stave away Burnley.

Arteta will also be devoid of another significant option in Mohamed Elneny who is still to recuperate completely from his hamstring injury, and it has been divulged that he won’t be available until next week in the training session.

There has been mixed news surrounding Granit Xhaka as the good one states that the Swiss midfielder has recovered from Covid after contracting the virus during his international duties. However, reports state that he has fully recovered from the virus and has been a part of training.

Updates on Xhaka’s return and Partey’s availability

However, Arteta will have to wait one more week before he can be used, as a rash tackle against Manchester City landed him a straight red which resulted in a three-match suspension. The serving of the ban started with Norwich City, while it will be followed by their outing at Turf Moor and their cup display against Wimbledon.

The absence of Elneny and Xhaka will allow former Atletico midfielder, Thomas Partey to start in the midfield. Partey came on around 70 minutes in their vie against Norwich and was instrumental in setting up the goal for Aubameyang. He himself has been recuperating from an ankle injury, and the Arsenal management didn’t want to rush him back to proceedings.
