Mikel Arteta keen to complete another deal ahead of tomorrow’s deadline

Gaffer Mikel Arteta is keen on getting another deal through the line before the deadline as the club continues to search for a starting and quality right-back. The Gunners have had a disastrous start to the season as they lead into the international break without even a single point to show on the table as they rank 20th, they have conceded 9 goals in just three games without even scoring a single one. This has created a lot of tension and panic within the club and the fans as this is the club’s worst start in the Premier League, Mikel Arteta is reportedly under a lot of pressure as well. Arsenal have spent the most money when it comes to this year’s summer transfer window with 120 m already spent by the Gunners, even after spending this much money, there are still a lot of gaps that need to be covered in this Arsenal team to get back where they were.

A major position Arsenal lack quality in is the right-back position. Hector Bellerin has had a major downfall since last season as Arsenal are open to selling him this summer, while Chambers and Cedric have been below par for the Gunners. This is a position Arsenal are targeting to fix, but it all depends on the number of outgoings, Bellerin is up for sale, but there are not many clubs interested in buying him, leaving Arsenal with no choice.

Who can Arsenal sign as the new right-back?

If Bellerin were to leave and Arsenal were to make a new signing to fill that gap, Max Aarons of Norwich City looks the most viable option right now. The 21-year-old is a very promising and exciting footballer to watch and could be the perfect fit for Arsenal as he suits all the attributes Arteta demands in a right-back. His age is a huge bonus, he is also homegrown which is what Arsenal are looking for this transfer window as they bought the likes of Ramsdale and Ben White. The last 48 hours could prove to be very busy for the Gunners as they remain keen on signing a right-back.
