After Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Brighton in Premier League, manager Jürgen Klopp is reportedly planning on making a key substitution for his team. The Daily Mail reports that Klopp will make the move.
Under the guidance of the German strategist, the Reds have seemed to be a very different team than they often are thus far this season.
Due to the fact that they have only won two of their first seven Premier League games, Liverpool is now ranked ninth in the league. They have a total of 10 points, out of a potential 21 points, to their credit.
In addition, Klopp saw his team suffer an embarrassing loss in the Champions League at the hands of Napoli, falling by a score of 4-1.
According to the Daily Mail, the 55-year-old coach is reportedly giving serious consideration to abandoning the 4-3-3 configuration that has been his trademark.
It has been reported that Jurgen Klopp is mulling over the possibility of using a 4-2-3-1 formation in an effort to improve the play of his team for tonight’s Champions League match against Rangers at Anfield.
However, the Liverpool manager might potentially do something more shocking, such as a three-man backline with wing-backs. This is the rumored system that is slated to take over from the 4-3-3 arrangement.
Because Jurgen Klopp has players like Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas, and Trent Alexander-Arnold available to him, playing in a wing-back formation is not out of the question.
We believe that if Jurgen Klopp were to switch his Liverpool team to a 4-2-3-1 shape, it would help them significantly improve their defensive play.
The matches that Liverpool has played so far this season have been quite similar to a game of basketball, in which the action quickly shifts from one end of the court to the other; the Reds have not been very good at managing transitions.
However, if Jurgen Klopp uses Fabinho and Thiago as pivotal pairs in the middle of the field and instructs them to sit in front of the defense, then an attacking quartet consisting of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino, and Darwin Nunez should be able to get the job done without having to worry about what will happen if they lose possession of the ball.
It would be great if Liverpool could go back to playing like they used to tonight against Rangers.
