The Update On The Future Of This Arsenal Star- Arsenal has already started planning for their summer recruitments as Arteta wants to heavily strengthen his squad and the starting XI. After another trophy-less campaign Arsenal’s hope of bringing more quality players depends slightly on their qualification for next season’s Uefa Champions League. The Gunners are currently in fourth place in the table but only two points above rival Tottenham Hotspurs who are at fifth.
The Gunners’ boss already hinted about strengthening his first XI next season but admits that the club cannot afford to sign marquee players like other top Premier League clubs and they need to find other ways.
Asked by Sky Sports about Liverpool completely changing their competitive outlook after signing Alisson and Van Dijk, Arteta said: “Do not think we are in a position where we can do that, so we have to find other ways to do it.”
“Liverpool, as well, have improved their players immensely, which is as important as bringing players in. And then, the ones that you buy, [it is important] that they can have an impact straight away.”
“Want to make the squad stronger. Want to make the starting XI stronger and want to make the specificity and the personality of our players stronger. That is what we are going to be seeking to do.”
Meanwhile Seria A club Juventus is interested in Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes. The Italian outfit is looking to replace club legend Giorgio Chiellini and they want a left-footed defender like him. Gabriel is what Juve wants but Arsenal is not much interested in selling him. According to Gianluca Di Marzio (Sky Italia journalist), a swap deal can happen between the two clubs could happen. That is, as Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo can go to London.
The 25-year-old midfielder can surely strengthen Gunner’s midfield and the deal is looking very much to happen. Arsenal has previously shown their interest in signing a few players from Juve. This is something the Italian club is looking to capitalize on.
Arthur is clearly not settled at Juventus as he has only got 10 starts in the Serie A. At 25, he is looking for a club where he can play every week which Arsenal can provide. Previously Arsenal somehow managed to get an 18 month deal with n option to buy the Brazilian but that deal failed because the management was not interested.
This time the scenario is different. Juve signed Arthur for £66m in 2020 but the midfielder did not reach his prime form for them. Arsenal could be a big opportunity for him. Arteta has a few class midfielders already in his squad and adding Arthur will be a cherry on the cake. However, whether they will let the Arsenal star leave or not, remains to be seen!!
