‘I think it’s not a good move’-Paul Scholes slams a Leeds United player for his ‘carelessness’ against Aston Villa

On Sunday, during Aston Villa’s match against Leeds United at Elland Road, which ended in a goalless draw, Paul Scholes hailed John McGinn’s “very fantastic” last-ditch tackle, which prevented Leeds United from gaining three points.

However, the former central midfielder had harsh words for “careless” Patrick Bamford and the manner in which he sent the ball to Mateusz Klich from inside the penalty area during stoppage time.

After losing one player in the first half, Leeds started the second half with 10 players, which put them in a position where they had their backs against the wall for most of the game during that second period.

Jesse Marsch’s team began demonstrating something different about their game, despite the fact that they had lost their last match against Brentford by a score of five to one.

They were able to hold Villa at bay and began to strike them on the counterattack as the clock wound down on the game. Substitute Bamford was one of the players who caused difficulties in the attacking third.

During the stoppage time, he sprinted through on goal with Klich as his companion, before providing the midfielder with a pass that was beautifully stopped by McGinn just as the player was about to fire.

What did Paul Scholes say about Patrick Bamford?

In spite of the fact that Scholes lauded McGinn for his efforts, he thought that Bamford should have played the ball to Klich’s left foot rather than his right, as he said to Premier League Productions.

Scholes told: “You thought they’d defend with ten men, but they kept going for it. And they were kind of dangerous.

Bamford should have given the ball to Klich’s left foot there, but he passed it to his right foot, where the defender is. It should go to the left foot, away from the defender.

But you should be fair to John McGinn. This is a great block and tackle. But I think Bamford is being careless. I think it’s not a good move.”
