“Higher Than Benzema And Salah”, Twitter Reacts As Lionel Messi Bags Third Spot In Europe
Lionel Messi has so far struggled to find his right stride for the Parisian champions as his surroundings haven’t really been the ones that you expect from the Argentine game-maker. The 34-year-old Argentine marksman has managed to secure four goals in Ligue 1. However, the gracious playmaker that he is, he has managed to stitch together 13 assists.
However, he rose to his scintillating former self when he unleashed a thunderbolt from range that would help PSG to secure an all-important stalemate, also bagging the French crown. However, in the recently published stats by a website called whoscored.com, Messi has been ranked in the third place in the entire European rankings, ahead of Mohammed Salah and Karim Benzema.
This is how the rankings look for Lionel Messi
As per the website, the stats have been based on the average match ratings for players in the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A and the Bundesliga. The ratings also take into account important stats from league matches which would encompass the parameters such as goals, assists, clean sheets, pass success percentage and man of the match performances. With all said and done, Messi’s rating is 7.71 which is 3rd on the entire list.
However, Bayern Munich sharp-shooter, Robert Lewandowski aces the charts with a staggering rate of 7.93 while Messi’s French teammate at PSG, Kylian Mbappe is in the second position with 7.91.
Surprisingly, Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, the fore-runner in this year’s Balon d’Or run, is ranked in the fourth position on the points table. He has bagged a rating of 7.68. He was in scintillating form in the last night’s outing against Manchester City where Real Madrid finished the opening leg of the UCL semis on a thrilling note.
Benzema is joint fourth with Mohammed Salah as the latter has been wreaking havoc in the Premier League. Salah has bagged 22 goals from 31 games and has a rating of 7.68. Here is how the top ten list currently looks according to the website.

Should've been ahead of Benzema, he was crucial to regaining the Ligue 1 after PSG shamefully lost it while Benzema is just statpadding La Liga and scoring from defensive errors in the UCL.
