‘He’s done it again, Douglas Luizzz’-Twitter reacts after Douglas Luiz scored a screamer from the corner against Arsenal

The first-midweek game was underway, and while not much was anticipated from the 10 games, practically every match has so far presented the globe with a lot of drama. In spite of this, Douglas Luiz entered the game for Aston Villa against Arsenal and scored on the first corner kick he took after the Gunners had taken the lead, 1-0.

As a result of Arsenal’s incredible beginning to the 2022–2023 league season, the club’s supporters are hoping for and dreaming of a great deal of success and acclaim in the not-too-distant future. This was made possible by the fact that the Gunners won their opening four games of the league season for the first time in more than two decades.

The team coached by Mikel Arteta is now trying to match a record set by Arsenal in 1997 by winning five games in a row. Everything went according to plan after Gabriel Jesus scored an excellent goal around fifteen minutes before halftime.

The goal was scored by the new number 9 for Arsenal, Jesus, after Gabriel Martinelli’s cross was deflected into his path by Emiliano Martinez, who then finished the play without making a single error. Despite the fact that the Gunners continued to be the superior team, they were unable to score a second goal despite their best efforts, and many supporters feared that Villa would make them pay for their poor performance.

And precisely that is what Douglas Luiz accomplished in that regard. Steven Gerrard made a double substitution in the 76th minute, bringing in the Brazilian forward along with Philippe Coutinho in the hopes that the two of them would turn the game around and make a difference.

His first touch was a corner kick that he sent to the near post from the left side, and Granit Xhaka was able to clear it. However, his second touch was to take another corner. Luiz’s wonderfully struck cross, however, soared past the near post and into the goal, beating an unlucky Aaron Ramsdale, who was attempting to make a save.

Fate, however, had other plans. Aston Villa supporters erupted in cheers a few seconds later, while Arsenal supporters yelled along with their team’s players and were then forced to watch as the VAR decided that the goal should stand. The Gunners regained the lead with their second goal, which came less than two minutes after Aston Villa’s goal.
