The appointment of Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag as the new Manchester United manager marks a new beginning. Ten Hag has been able to work wonders with his team in Amsterdam. Ajax’s constant good performances in the UEFA Champions League alongside in domestic competitions had made Ten Hag a wanted man at Old Trafford and after some discussions and talks, he finally agreed to join the Red Devils.

What Does The Future Hold For Erik Ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo?

Reportedly, Ten Hag wants to keep Cristiano Ronaldo at the club but with the team missing out on a UEFA Champions League spot this season, it won’t be easy to convince him to stay. Although, in a recent interview, Ronaldo praised his new manager highly and mentioned that he is excited by the possibility of working with him in future. But along with that, he demands success. Ronaldo said, “Things need to change the way he wants”, stating his intention loud and clear. So, in case Ronaldo decides to stay and help his beloved United, he wants to see some positive changes around the club.

If rumours are to be believed, Ten Hag wants the majority of the squad members sold and wants to mould United in his style of play. Reportedly, he has already let the board know of his desired signings and now the ball is again on the court of the management. A manager like Ten Hag demands ultimate control and trust from the board and Manchester United has a history of failing to do either of these in recent years. So, only time will tell whether it’s a new beginning or just a repetition of the old stories!
