David Beckham is a player who had a stellar career of 21 years at some of the top clubs in the world. He played with numerous world-class players and etched his name in the record books wherever he went.
Beckham had started his career with Manchester United. He won six English Premier League titles, a Champions League, and a FA Cup during his successful career under Sir Alex Ferguson.
David Beckham went on to join Real Madrid as a galactico signing. He then went on to join AC Milan, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint Germain. The English midfielder finally took his call on his career in the year 2013.
He was also the captain of his country for six years which earned him an impressive 115 caps. During his trophy-laden spell, he played with some of the best players like Kaka, Ibrahimovic, Zinedine Zidane, and Ronaldinho.
David Beckham is currently a part-owner of the club Inter Miami.
He played with some of the greatest players at United but didn’t take their names when asked a tough question. In a recent interview with Gary Neville on his podcast The Overlap, David Beckham was asked to name one teammate who was the best player he has ever played with.
He said: “The best player I’ve ever played with, apart from you, Zidane.”
This answer came as no surprise, as the player was in love with the way Zidane played. David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane played together at Real Madrid for three years. They won the Supercopa de Espana during their time together at the club.
However, Zidane retired just a year before Beckham departed for AC Milan. Beckham was so admired by Zidane that he had even shared an emotional Instagram post paying tribute to the legendary player as he announced his retirement.
Zinedine Zidane won the World Cup as well as the Champions League which is already a very big achievement. He had a chance to win his second world cup in 2006 against Italy. But he had a disastrous end to his career as he headbutted Marco Materazzi, which ultimately cost him the match and also his career.
