Crystal Palace interested in buying Arsenal’s striker

Reports emerging from England have stated that Crystal Palace are heavily interested and have also enquired about Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah. Eddie has now entered the final year of his contract and is reportedly considering all the options coming his way. The striker has so far not been in Mikel Arteta’s plans and is expected to leave the club as he does not see himself growing there. With no real chances given at the club, Nketiah is expecting a bid to arrive and will agree to a move away from the Emirates.

Nketiah to Arsenal?

According to reliable reporter David Ornstein, Arsenal have apparently tried to tie Nketiah to a new contract but the 22-year-old has turned it down, making an exit imminent in the upcoming days. Initially, Arsenal tried to involve Nketiah in a deal with Brighton that would see the striker go to the other side, while Ben White comes to Arsenal but the talks broke down after Brighton made it clear that they were only interested in selling Ben White in exchange for money. After Brighton, Crystal Palace have now emerged as favorites to acquire the services of the forward who are reportedly set to offer 10m to get him to Selhurst Park.

Palace boss and ex Gunner, Patrick Vieira is keen to bring him to Palace this season but is offering only 10m in response to Arsenal’s asking fee of 20m. The Gunners are reluctant to do business at that price or with Palace or any other team for Nketiah.

In the ongoing season, Nketiah has been unable to feature because of an unfortunate ankle injury, his absence has been all the more frustrating for the Gunners after both the main forwards, Aubameyang and Lacazette contracted with the Covid-19. In place of Eddie, both Martinelli and Balogun have been given chances to shine up top but have failed to do so after Arsenal have failed to score in two consecutive games against Brentford and Chelsea respectively.

Arsenal are still on the hunt to get a few transfers over the line before the deadline approaches, and they will be looking to offload Eddie Nketiah if a decent bid arrives from Palace.
