Chelsea has taken a decision regarding Mason Mount’s future for the next season at the Stamford Bridge

Although rumours have surfaced that contract extension discussions between Chelsea and Mason Mount have stalled, the club continues to make the player a top priority

Caughtoffside’s Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea is still intent on re-signing Mason Mount. They have shown interest in retaining the England international in the long run. There have been rumours of an impasse between the club and the player, but the Blues are still committed to reaching an agreement with the offensive player.

Chelsea is in a precarious position, both in terms of on-field performance and the prospective contracts of key players. The Blues’ last three Premier League losses have increased the pressure on manager Graham Potter, despite the team’s promising start under Potter’s leadership.

While it is desired that progress on a project under Potter be steady, setbacks are to be expected. Many changes are expected to occur in the next transfer windows, which might provide Chelsea with a significant boost to their preparations. Owner Todd Boehly of the Blues is especially interested in keeping his academy products on the roster.

Boehly orchestrated trades for a number of players during the summer transfer window. Some of the team’s younger players, such Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Denis Zakaria, still have time to make an impact. Players like Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana were brought in, especially for the sake of the endeavour.

Armando Broja and Reece James, two other players on the team, have already had their contracts extended after negotiations between Boehly and the club. Followed closely by Mason Mount. According to the Telegraph, contract negotiations between the player and the club have reportedly broken down. This has led to much conjecture about his future prospects.

Club resources might be directed into negotiating a contract with the 23-year-old playmaker in an attempt to secure his long-term future with the organization.

Mount has appeared for Chelsea 181 times in all competitions, scoring 32 goals and dishing out 37 assists. No matter what, the team will not sell him since he is such a crucial cog in their machine. In light of this, the club at Stamford Bridge feels confident in extending his contract.

Mount’s contract with Chelsea expires in 2024, thus the club is in a bind if they can’t reach an extension agreement with him. The 23-year-old will have his pick of the litter when it comes to major teams interested in signing him.
