After the 6-0 win against Levante, the Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti praised his team but also showed his sympathy for the team being relegated. The team with the Italian manager at the helm fought well with all the constraints they had throughout the season and was showered with love by Carlo deservedly. After a bit of a bump in the road in the middle of the season Real Madrid has made a strong comeback and is on the way to finishing the season strongly. With the LaLiga title in their bag, their entire focus right now is expectedly on the UCL final and before the final, the manager was asked about his player choices. Two of the underrated yet key players in Madrid’s run to the final have been Rodrygo and Fede Valverde. When asked regarding the chances of them featuring in the final, Carlo replied, “Both of them are going to play the final”.

A Ploy Or A Statement by Carlo Ancelotti?

Only time will reveal whether or not what Carlo said can be taken as seriously as it seems. The final is still a bit far away, so this from Ancelotti can also be taken as part of his mind games. Carlo is vastly experienced and there are not many who are better than him at getting things done at the highest stage of world football. So, this may well have been a ploy from him to distract his opponent.

On the other hand, his words can not also be taken lightly. He has actually been quite impressed with Valverde. Valverde’s ability to make runs in behind along with his work rate and service to provide verticality make him potent starting option in the UCL final against a team like Liverpool. Rodrygo also has done wonders for the team in their run to the final. So, even if both of them do not start, the chances of them getting game time as substitutes are quite high as Real are looking to secure their 14th UCL title this time around.
