It is not a closely guarded secret that Manchester United is interested in acquiring a new ball-playing goalkeeper; rumors about this topic have been coming in from all over the continent. There is also the prospect of making a trade with Atletico Madrid, which has been brought up.

The future of goalkeeper Jan Oblak is also uncertain, and given Los Rojiblancos’ interest in David de Gea, the pair might switch clubs in the near future.

Diogo Costa, the goalkeeper for FC Porto, has been the subject of many scouting trips from Manchester United, who have sent representatives to see him play. And as a result of these occurrences, the present leader is under increased amounts of pressure.

During the 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur, the player, who is now 31 years old, showcased his improved passing ability. But Erik ten Hag has already stoked the rumors by claiming that contract discussions are postponed as of now because he is concentrating more on how to manage the situation on the field.

De Gea has a lengthy history of service to Manchester United and has shown a high level of consistency in both his reflexes and his ability to block shots. But in today’s sport, a goalkeeper has to be able to utilize both of his feet more regularly and with a certain type of accuracy, neither of which de Gea possesses.

His present agreement is set to run out during the summer of the next year, although it does include an extension provision that has not yet been used. In La Liga, Real Betis has shown a preference for Rui Silva. In contrast, the 39-year-old veteran Claudio Bravo has played in every match in the UEFA Europa League.

During the summer, when Bravo’s current contract will come to an end, his future might be decided, and Rui Silva’s future could also be decided at that time. Therefore, a transfer for de Gea is something that the Andalusian club should consider as an option. If they do decide to relocate, though, they should be concerned about the high salaries that he receives.

Bono and Marko Dmitrovic are the only two goalkeepers that Sevilla presently have on their team’s roster. And if they want to make a run at the league championship the following year, de Gea might be welcomed with open arms by the club. Los Nervionenses are having trouble recreating their glory days, and the arrival of the Spanish ace would give them a new lease of life.

Since de Gea has been residing in England since 2011, moving back to Spain would provide him with the opportunity to spend more time with his family. It is still unknown if Manchester United would extend the player’s contract to reclaim some of the money that they spent on the player when he was under contract with Atletico Madrid or whether they will allow the player to go as a free agent.
