Bayern Munich Rip Salzburg Apart With A Goalfest

Salzburg grabbed the limelight in the opening leg of the contest with Bayern Munich as they pulled off a 1-1 draw against the formidable German paragons. However, the Bavarians took it personally and ensured the fact that they are coming back with a bang as they laid waste to an undercooked Salzburg.

Bayern Munich was straight down to business in the opening minutes itself as Kohn denied the invasive Bavarians with fine save off Lewandowski’s stinging drive. Much to the surprise of the world, Salzburg produced two chances in the next minute, the first coming from Capaldo whose low effort was repelled by Coman while the resultant corner was dragged wide by Kristensen.

Bayern Munich showcased their unrivalled supremacy in Europe

It took ten minutes for Bayern to establish their reign as Wober clipped Lewandowski in the box. The Polish marksman steered Kohn the wrong way before pegging the ball into the net, grabbing the lead.

Salzburg had a screaming opportunity to restore parity as Seiwald slammed his effort into a towering Neuer with the ball sailing over the woodwork after the latter’s intervention.

In a close replica of the opening incident that earned Bayern their first goal of the night, Wober upended Lewandowski in the box again as Bayern had their second spot-kick of the night.

Bayern started conjuring memories of what Germany did to Brazil in the 2014 World Cup. Within just a couple of minutes of the second, Lewandowski grabbed his hat-trick as he used a ricochet to its full effect extending the Germans’ lead beyond contention for Salzburg.

Seven minutes later, the net got rattled up again as Coman robbed off a dawdling Camara at the edge of the Salzburg box and laid it in the stride of Gnabry to hammer home Bayern’s fourth.

Bayern simply wanted to punish Salzburg for daring to pull off a draw in the first leg as Muller was the next to bang home with his left foot, thanks to a fine cross from Leroy Sane.

Salzburg produced a wonder goal to grab an iota of pride Kjaergaard speared the ball into the top corner of the net leaving Neuer stranded to his root.

Bayern was leaving no stone unturned to further condemn Salzburg’s daring effort to rear their head after thorough domination. Muller responded to Kjaergaard’s strike with a replication of his earlier goal as he latched onto a Sane cross, bundling it into the back of the net.

It was Leroy Sane who completed the rout, thanks to a selfless act from Lewandowski who waited for the winger to get into position as he teed up the latter.
