However, Bayern is not reluctant to let him go for free and they want Barcelona to pay £50m. This is a very high fee for a 33-year-old striker who is well beyond his prime years.

Although the Polish striker has scored more than 350 goals in the Bundesliga, his age could be an issue. He may play for Barcelona for another two or three years but that is not worth the investment.

Also, Lewandowski’s scenario with Bayern has still not changed. His agent Zahavi is still busy having discussions with the German club. Both the player and the club are unable to accept their ideologies.

Lewandowski has publicly criticized Bayern and has expressed his anger towards the club’s board. Whereas’ Bayern Munich’s sporting director and the president are also not happy with the way Lewandowski has shown disrespect towards the club that has moulded his career.

If things don’t solve sooner then Barcelona will need to look for other alternatives this summer. Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus fits the bill perfectly for Xavi.

Barcelona News Transfer: Gabriel Jesus Could Be A Smart Addition to Xavi’s Dwindling Attacking Force

The Brazilian striker scored eight goals and provided eight assists last season. His main strong points are his versatility to play in numerous positions.

He has played as a winger 38 times, also he is able to operate as a lone center-forward or pair up well with another striker. Jesus can use both of his feet smartly and has a perfect eye for goal.

Also, his positioning awareness and quicker movements had made him a good choice for Pep Guardiola during decisive moments. Gabriel Jesus should be snapped up by Xavi as he can bright a spark to Barcelona’s attack along with Ansu Fati and Luuk De Jong.
