Barcelona News Transfer: The Barcelona hierarchy has made it clear that the club is ready to sell Frenkie De Jong only on certain conditions. Frenkie De Jong has been linked with Manchester United for a long time.

The English club is looking to reunite the Dutch midfielder with Erik ten Hag again. De Jong’s cravings are increasing within the United camp and the board knows that Ten Hag wants to have him as his first signing.

However, Manchester United have limited funds and can’t let their money flow without negotiations. As of now, Barcelona is holding on for a fee of around £80m (plus £20m in add-ons). This will take the deal towards the £100m mark.

Manchester United has never touched this figure since the club signed Harry Maguire. Also, it was also revealed by Fabrizio Romano that United’s first official bid of £65m plus £10m in add-ons has been rejected by Barcelona.

The Spanish side feels that United are still not touching their asking price and they are not ready to budge. Due to Barcelona’s financial condition, they will not sign any players until they let some of their players leave.

This could ease some pressure off their financial books and will also get them some cash to invest in the transfer window. As of now, Barcelona has many targets, in which Bernardo Silva is Xavi’s favourite one.

Barcelona is well aware of the situation and wants to make good use of it. However, Xavi eyes Silva as an experienced and a very versatile senior player. He can help his younger players develop and have an influence on the starting XI.

Xavi wants to play Silva alongside Pedri but this dream will be fulfilled only if they have the funds to sign the Man City midfielder. Manchester City is asking for £50-60m for the Portuguese midfield maestro.

As of now, this big sum of money could only be available for Barcelona if they sell Frenkie De Jong. But that entirely depends upon Manchester United and their eagerness to complete this deal.
