Arsenal has burst into the top 4 after their recent good form in the Premier League. The team of Mikel Arteta is trying to assemble around the youth is performing really well. The 20 years old joined Arsenal at the age of just seven and since then has climbed up the ranks to now become one of the most exciting young prospects in the country. In the Premier League this season, he has already registered 9 goals and 5 assists and his numbers are bound to shoot up in the coming years.

The club undoubtedly wants to pounce on this opportunity as they look to tie Saka down for the long term. He is currently one of the lowest earners in the team with a salary of only £30,000 per week. His current contract runs out in 2023, although Arsenal has the option to further extend in for one more year. But as things stand, the Gunners management does not want to take any risk, as Saka’s fine form has attracted much attention from other top clubs.

Recently, Liverpool was linked with the English youngster and their manager Jurgen Klopp is supposedly a big fan of Saka. So, Arsenal certainly does not want to waste any time and doubt their decision.

A star in the making for Arsenal?

So, after the end of this season, he may receive a renewal from the club’s side and may see a huge jump in his earnings too. If reports are to be believed, Richard Garlick, Arsenal’s Head of football operations, is willing to offer him a bumper £125,000 per week deal.

Arsenal has already entrusted him the club’s number 7 shirt and he has repaid their faith in him extremely well. He is at the very centre of Arteta’s project and the fans of course want to see their academy graduate become a club legend in the near future.

Arsenal as a club has a long history of failing to tie down their star players for the long term and this time they should not repeat their past mistakes. Saka, as a player, has come a long way since missing his penalty in the Euro 2020 final shootout and it’s clear that he has thrived on that incident ever since. He is ready to take up the challenge and the ball is now on the club’s court!
