Eddie Nketiah Reveals That He Misses “One Of The Great Guy’ Arsenal Got Rid Off

Eddie Nketiah spoke on The Beautiful Game Podcast. He has gone on the record to talk about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he departed from Arsenal.

In the January transfer window, the Gabonese attacker was ruthlessly dismissed by Arsenal after having a falling out with Mikel Arteta. He was permitted to join Barcelona on a free transfer after being released by the Gunners.

While it seems like Arteta did not want Aubameyang in the dressing room, Nketiah claims that he is genuinely missing the attacker. He noted that he was a wonderful person from whom he learned a great deal.

What did Eddie Nketiah say?

Nketiah expressed his feelings about Aubameyang’s leaving. “It was different because you grew up with these people. I wouldn’t say it had an impact on me. You miss them. Auba is a fantastic man. I learned so much from him and he was so nice to me; but. At the end of the day, it’s just part of football. I care about everyone, but I’m also in my own zone, worrying about myself,” Nketiah said.

What exactly is going on?

There is a great deal of mystery around what occurred with Aubameyang at Arsenal. The current scenario seems more odd in light of Nketiah’s statements.

Even though Aubameyang was reportedly released due to his negative effect in the dressing room, Nketiah claims that he was a terrific mentor who taught him a great deal.

We can only hope that we will be able to get some clarification on what has really occurred one of these days, since the situation is becoming weirder the more we hear about it.

Arsenal’s situation:

Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Saturday was the 15th consecutive game in which one of their attackers failed to score from open play in the Premier League, a streak that dates back to December.

While Eddie Nketiah was selected to lead the line in the absence of Alexandre Lacazette, who was ruled out with Covid-19, he did not fare much better than his teammate has done lately for the Saints.

He did have a shot on goal, which is one more than Lacazette had in the 2-1 loss to Brighton a week earlier. But the 22-year-old never looked like he was going to score.

Although it has been more than two months since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Barcelona, the fact that he has scored seven goals in all competitions in the first half of the season means that he is still Arsenal’s top scorer this season.
