‘Just £6M Bid For Him’- Arsenal Is Furious With A Low Bid For Their Player, Who Was Once Valued At £45M

Arsenal News Transfer: Arsenal is furious after receiving a fee as low as £6m for a player who was once valued at a price of £45m. Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Fiorentina has sent a very cheap offer to Arsenal in order to sign Lucas Torreira.

The 26-year-old midfielder was a regular player for Fiorentina last season. He played 35 games for the Italian side and also scored five goals. Arsenal had sent him on loan and both the clubs agreed on the release clause.

The Gunners had placed a £12m price tag in case Fiorentina decides to buy him permanently. However, the transfer started taking weird turns, as Juventus started to show interest in Lucas Torreira.

And now, another surprising bid has appeared as Fiorentina has offered Arsenal £6m in front to sign the midfielder. This has left Gunner’s board furious as they cannot believe that a team can offer so less for a player who was once priced at £45m.

Even after being a regular with the Italian side, such an offer looks quite disrespectful to his parent club.

Currently, the Uruguayan midfielder has just one year left on his present contract. This means that Arsenal needs to sell him for a particular price or else they would lose him for free.

Torreira has already made up his mind and so convincing him to sign a new deal makes no sense. Although the £6m is way below the asking price, Arsenal needs to negotiate for a fee at least close to £10m.

Still, Arsenal will be suffering a £20m loss on a player they once signed for more than £40m. It is a not-so-profitable business for the Gunners at this moment.
