Yuri Alberto has been making good progress at the Brazilian club Internacional, and he has been in particularly good form recently. Several English and European teams have taken notice of his performance after he scored 19 goals in 54 games across all competitions.

Shakhtar Donetsk is among the teams interested since the Ukrainian club is well-known for nurturing young Brazilian talent. They may attempt to make a large bid for the striker, but they may lose out in the process due to strong interest from Spanish and English teams.

Alberto attracting interest from European clubs

Manchester City is said to have contacted Internacional for Alberto earlier in the transfer window. However, they may consider him a backup option to their other center-forward ambitions. However, as previously witnessed in the last window, the Premier League winners may still sign the attacker and assist him in developing other City Football Group teams throughout Europe and the United States.

Everton is also interested in the player because manager Rafael Benitez is eager to add a youthful attacker to his team. On the other hand, Arsenal seems to have had the jump on their competitors in the hunt for Alberto. Andre Cury, the player’s agent, has been in touch with both the Gunners and Shakhtar. According to reports, if interested parties can reach Internacional’s asking price of €15 million, the Brazilian club would love to sell the striker.

Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have struggled to find the form for the Gunners this season, and the club’s offensive options have been severely limited this season. More importantly, while Alberto will not be his immediate successor, it is assumed that the French striker will depart the club after the season when his contract ends.

The Gunners are on the lookout for a striker

The Gunners are on the lookout for a proven striker such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, among other talented players. In addition to that, they may sign a young player to their squad to groom him for the future, given that Aubameyang is not getting any younger any time soon. They are looking for a player in the mold of Gabriel Martinelli, who has progressed well after joining the lower ranks of Brazilian football, and Yuri Alberto is the man they are looking for.

To be sure, having Brazilians like Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes around him may make the transition to the Emirates Stadium more comfortable for him, but he will have no lack of choices to select from when the January transfer market opens.
