Arsenal Join Competition To Sign £20m Takehiro Tomiyasu’s Alternative

Arsenal and Manchester United are leading the chase for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons, according to media reports. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are among the German clubs showing interest in signing the talented young Englishman.

However, with Norwich City now languishing at the bottom of the Premier League and set to be relegated, it wouldn’t be shocking if the 22-year-old departed Carrow Road this summer. He has two years remaining on his contract at Carrow Road. Arsenal is in line with a move for the right-back. He is valued at roughly £19.8million according to Transfermarkt. With Mikel Arteta in need of competition with Japanese international Takehiro Tomiyasu, Aarons might be the ideal choice to fill that vacancy.

Edu and Arteta have been on the lookout for players under the age of 25. Additionally, Aarons has all of the characteristics that you’d expect from a more well-rounded, contemporary full-back. He has the added advantage of being a homegrown star.

As of now, according to The Sun, Arsenal, and Premier League rivals, Manchester United are the front-runners in the hunt to recruit him. The Red Devils, however, need competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, particularly given his inconsistent form this season and Diogo Dalot’s inability to establish himself in the starting lineup.

Will Max Aarons move to Arsenal?

Aarons has been brutally honest about the Gunners and Arteta in the past. This doesn’t speak well for a future transfer to the Emirates Stadium. Following a disappointing start to the Premier League season, Arsenal picked up their first victory of the campaign against Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium. But the Englishman said that he could sense the tension in the audience and among the players. “It was fine to be fair. You could sense Arsenal was under pressure because the crowd were a little anxious, which added to the atmosphere.

There was a lot of tension amongst the players, and you could sense it in the stadium. Going into the game as Norwich, we believed we had a chance to take something away from it. It was disappointing not to succeed,” he remarked in a September interview with Vibe with Five.

Fortunately for Arsenal, the mood has much improved since then. The Gunners have made a serious fight for a top-four finish. So, it remains to be seen whether or not this will be enough to persuade Aarons to choose them over the United.
