Arsenal’s midfielder, Thomas Partey is fit and available for selection for the massive game against Liverpool this weekend. The Gunners are all set to travel to Anfield as Liverpool hosts them in what will turn out to be a very crucial game for both sides this Saturday.
While Mikel Arteta’s men are coming from a convincing win over Watford and are on a 10 match unbeaten streak, Liverpool has failed to win a single game in their last two outings in the Premier League, something which they will be looking to turn around as the international break now comes to an end.
For the first time in many weeks, Arteta had full availability of his players for selection barring Granit Xhaka who got injured in the North London derby. Recent rumours had it that Thomas Partey was a “doubt” for the game against Liverpool this weekend as he did not feature in the match against Watford and did not play any part in either of Ghana’s World Cup qualifying matches either.
Due to him not flying out, there were worries among the club that he would not be able to start on Saturday due to lack of fitness.
However, it appears that there is good news for the Gunners and their supporters as Thomas Partey is fit and available for selection as the club has released their latest fitness updates on their official website and the midfielder is nowhere to be seen. He appears to have recovered from his groin strain and has a good chance of starting against Jurgen Klopp’s side this Saturday.
While Thomas Partey is reportedly fit, his partner Granit Xhaka has failed to start a game since his injury in September but is making good progress and will be in contention to start from January. Another player who could be out for a while is Sead Kolasinac who sustained a significant injury to his left ankle while playing for his nation during the international break.
