Report: Arsenal Make £60m Bid For Victor Osimhen?

Has Arsenal Really Made An Offer For This Star Before The Close Of The Transfer Window?

Arsenal will not be signing Dusan Vlahovic in the next January transfer window. This much is agreed upon by all parties that the deal will not happen. The imposing striker has turned down the opportunity to play for Arsenal in favour of Serie A champs Juventus. Now is the time to move on and get in more players, with the name of Victor Osimhen being linked with the Gunners.

But to what, precisely, are we moving on? Since then, the names of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jonathan David, and Alexander Isak have been bandied about endlessly. Each with its own set of challenges and roadblocks to overcome when it comes to obtaining their signatures before the end of this month. Still, there is hope in the hearts of the fans.

A striker continues to be high on the priority list. The number of available possibilities is now shrinking quickly, with time slowly fading away too. Efforts made so far to capture the elusive No. 9 aren’t enough.

Because of the nature of the rumour mill, Arsenal’s rising desperation and the desire to generate headlines, all sorts of names will be connected with a move to north London between now and Monday. There are multiple stories with no real substance, according to many sources. Victor Osimhen is the most recent of these individuals. However, there is nothing concrete so far.

Why Arsenal’s £60m pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is a waste of time, despite unsubstantiated reports that Arteta is contemplating a January deal for the Italian forward?

For starters, the Nigerian star has excellent mobility in central areas. He is capable of cushioning the ball from lofty heights and can turn his man before rushing towards the goal with his left foot. He can cover short and long distances at an enthusiastic and plundering speed. His big stature makes him a nuisance to deal with everywhere on the field. But particularly when it comes to the penalty area and in the box.

He has only recently turned 23 years old, and his return of nine goals in 16 appearances for Napoli this season. He has also suffered Covid and facial injuries during that time. Osimhen has carried over positively from his tally of ten goals in 30 appearances across all competitions last season. It was a more than respectable performance for a rookie in a new league.

Many clubs and fans regard Osimhen as a genuine

This article by Gazzetta Dello Sport has been picked up by several publications and turned stories on its head. Arsenal is not part of the list to create a narrative. The north London side has a commitment to getting new players. Despite that, they have been the least active club so far amongst the big names.

By ignoring the reality that Napoli would never sell Osimhen for £60m with just a few days remaining in the transfer window. They have barely paid almost half of the €71.3m in wages and bonuses that they still owe Lille for buying him 18 months ago. It is pure invention. Newcastle is also part of the conversation, with nothing substantial yet.

It gets supporters excited since the player in the issue is a top-tier talent. But these tales only have even worse results when the person in question does not sign and everyone loses their collective minds as a result.

He seems like a good fit for the Premier League. That is given his constantly improving skill set as well as his physical dominance and intelligent movement. The transfer needs to happen soon if the club is serious. Social Media continues to talk about Arsenal and the January window.
