Real Madrid Gets Informed About Kylian Mbappe’s Decision

Kylian Mbappe, a key transfer target for Real Madrid, is allegedly on the verge of signing a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain. This would be a devastating blow to the Spanish giants.

RMC Sport writer Daniel Riolo reports that PSG starlet Kylian Mbappe is ready to turn down a move to Real Madrid to remain with his present club Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappe will make a statement about his future next month.

In 2017, PSG signed Mbappe from Ligue 1 rivals AS Monaco. He has been at the club ever since. Initially signed on a loan basis, the Frenchman’s loan was extended to a permanent deal in 2018. During his five-year stay with Les Parisiens, he has experienced incredible success. Thus, earning a slew of championships and awards while firmly establishing himself as one of the finest young strikers in the game.

Mbappe’s future at Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, has been the subject of considerable conjecture since last summer. He reached the last year of his contract with the French club. Real Madrid, who have been long-time fans of the 23-year-old, made significant attempts to sign him, only to have their bids rejected by PSG.

However, with Mbappe declining to sign a contract extension with the Ligue 1 leaders, it seemed as if he would be heading to Real Madrid on a Bosman transfer this summer. Indeed, rumours stated that the 2018 FIFA World Cup champion had already struck a pre-contract agreement with the Merengues and that a final agreement was on the horizon.

What will Los Blancos do then?

Karim Benzema, Mbappe’s international colleague, and a prolific Real Madrid goal scorer, has also hinted at the prospect of the latter joining the Spanish giants soon. The 23-year-old may sign a new deal with PSG. He will remain in France beyond the current season. This would mark a significant U-turn for him.

According to Daniel Riolo, Kylian Mbappe has opted to sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain to extend his time at the Parc des Princes. The writer goes on to say that the 23-year-old intends to announce once the Ligue 1 season concludes in May.

If this information proves to be correct, it will be a big setback for Real Madrid. A great deal of effort has been put in by the Spanish giants to lure Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu. They seemed to be in a strong position to secure his signature on a Bosman contract. Nonetheless, if the French international does opt to sign a new deal, Los Blancos will have to pick up their chase of Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland.
