4 Reasons why Arsenal haven’t won a single game in the Premier League this season

Arsenal have had a disastrous start in the Premier League this season, after a humiliating 5-0 defeat against Manchester City, the Gunners find themselves 20th in the league with 3 losses in 3 games. Arsenal have failed to score a single goal but have conceded 9 goals, one of the many unwanted stats Arsenal have registered to their name this season. Mikel and the team find themselves under huge pressure going into the next game, but before that, we look at the four reasons why Arsenal haven’t won a single game in the Premier League this season.

#4 Lack of Leadership

Arsenal’s captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has missed the first two games of the season after he caught Covid. Ex vice-captain has now left Arsenal to join Real Betis on a season-long loan, leaving the team without both a captain and a vice-captain in the opening games of the season.

Arsenal looked clueless on the pitch without any guidance as they looked for motivation after going down 1-0 against Chelsea. They are also missing Gabriel in defence which makes a massive difference as he leads the defence from the front.

#3 Mikel Arteta’s tactics

Arteta’s tactics have been criticised by the majority of the Arsenal fans now as the team has reached rock bottom of the table. Mikel’s stint at Arsenal has been full of ups and downs, as the Spaniard won the FA Cup in his very first season at the Emirates but finished 8th in the table next season and now Arsenal’s worst start to the season.

Mikel Arteta’s player management is a huge concern as well, which is doubted by many. He has again loaned out the highly-rated centre-back William Saliba to Marseille when they clearly needed a defender. He has also been ignoring the likes of Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson

#2 Injuries

Arsenal have always been unlucky when it comes to injuries, the Gunners have yet again suffered major setbacks at the beginning of the season. Arteta’s team has now suffered 5-6 injuries in Thomas Partey, El Neny, Nketiah, Gabriel and Rob Holding, making it difficult for Mikel to execute his plans as he only has a limited number of players who are available.

While Gabriel is Arsenal’s defender, Thomas Partey leads the midfield, and both of them have been absent in the first three games for the Gunners. Arsenal will be looking to get both of them back on the pitch as soon as possible.

#1 Covid-19

While all teams have suffered the cause of Covid, Arsenal are struggling at the moment with many important players unavailable due to Covid. Players like Aubameyang, Lacazette and now Ben White as well, things have not looked good for the Gunners off the pitch as well.

Things off the pitch have severely impacted things on the pitch as they have 0 points to show after 3 games as we discussed the four reasons why Arsenal haven’t won a single game in the Premier League this season.
