“18-years-old kid in the shortlist”, Real Madrid has shortlisted a replacement and back up of Karim Benzema in the summer transfer window

According to reports, Real Madrid will want 18-year-old Brazilian forward Matheus Nascimento from Botafogo in the next summer transfer window

When the summer transfer market opens in 2023, Real Madrid reportedly has Matheus Nascimento as a top priority. Jude Bellingham and Christopher Nkunku are also high on the transfer wishlist of the reigning La Liga winners, who are expected to add at least three players in the next season.

There seems to be a never-ending stream of extraordinary Brazilians, and Matheus Nascimento is the most recent potential to emerge from this flow. The 18-year-old has been with Botafogo for more than seven years and has excelled since joining the team. The young talent has established himself as a mainstay in the first-team rotation, and his future prospects are high.

This season, the Brazilian forward has played 36 times for Botafogo. Though Nascimento’s seven goals and one assist may not seem like much, keep in mind that he is only a teenager. And the player has improved to the point that Real Madrid is interested in signing him.

For almost a year, the La Liga winners have been keeping tabs on the development of the 18-year-old Brazilian attacker. Nascimento’s 18th birthday means Real Madrid may start making plans to sign him in the 2023 summer transfer window.

For the Merengues, Karim Benzema’s absence has been felt sorely this year. Rodrygo Goes, a Brazilian attacker, is more suited to the right-wing position, despite his success while playing in the central striker role. Real Madrid will need to get a new striker soon since Karim Benzema is nearing the end of his career.

Consequently, Los Blancos may realistically pursue Nascimento next summer and will prioritize signing the 18-year-old Brazilian attacker. A further Brazilian wunderkind, Endrick, is on Real Madrid’s radar as a long-term attacking option. However, the Spanish champions would have to wait another two years before they can sign the Palmeiras star.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will prioritize signing not just Nascimento, but also Jude Bellingham and Christopher Nkunku. It will be intriguing to watch whether the Merengues sign all of their top priorities next summer.
